
Stuck in traffic one day on the A6 whilst driving into Bedford, Managing Director, Paul Burridge, couldn't avoid a huge billboard ad for a certain shampoo and with this the storing.com billboard was conceived. 100's of cars drive along the A6 each day and it is routinely gridlocked in the morning rush, an almost captive audience.
"It's all about positioning and catching the viewers attention," suggests Paul. "We knew we had to come up with something direct and appealing, so we asked TravisBead for some ideas."
We thought about what differentiated storing.com from their competition and tried to think of something that might raise a smile with the weary commuter. Storing.com pride themselves on their exemplary customer service and their very happy customers, so this was our angle, "Satisfied Customers". The subsequent visual is amusing and conveys the message nicely. The strap line is focused, simple and easily digested and the call to action is highly visible. Less is definitely more in outdoor advertising, as if you are lucky, you'll need to understand it at 50 mph too.
"We are pleased with the result, it'll be hitting the streets shortly
and long may the congestion continue. That's not normally something we
wish for in our business!" Paul Burridge.
